Producer Summit Mtgs! Oct 15 & 16

Good morning,
A quick update to highlight a couple of items prior to next week's risk management summits. To that end, I anticipate my posts to slow for a spell, unless of course there's something noteworthy to share.

October 15th & 16th - We will be hosting Producer Summit Meetings Monday in Walla Walla at the Airport Meeting Room and Tuesday at the The McGregor Company Main Office in Colfax. Both meetings will begin at 9:30AM and will conclude with a catered lunch. All are welcomed, please RSVP for lunch!

• Paul Neiffer: Update on last year's tax law
• Kevin Duling: Leading a discussion on the WASDE report due out this Thursday;
• The latest news on the farm bill
• Weather
There's at least one topic that could yield additional financial gain to your operation in 2019 and perhaps yet in 2018! I promise it will be 3 hours of time well invested.

Banker conversation - If you're well prepared, the forthcoming renewal meeting can have a positive and perhaps different outcome. Read this before you go!

Beef, it's what's for dinner! Part 2 - Beef exports hit a record for the month of August, up 7% from 2017. This article examines the increase and looks at highlights for 2019.

Wolf Saga continues - Another member of the Old Profanity Territory pack, this time a mature female, was shot by marksman for the Fish & Wildlife Department. The pack had 6 livestock attacks during a four day period in early September.

China syndrome - Over the weekend, China's central bank took another step shore up a faltering economy due to the trade war with the US. For the fourth time this year, the amount of cash reserves lenders must hold on hand has been reduced. On Monday, China's stock market fell almost 4% in response to the news.

A reminder of why the trade war was initiated by the current administration...

Integrity - The recent non-gmo marketing campaign from Chipotle has hit a snag, a US District Judge has ruled that the restaurant chain promotions are misleading...

November 14 - Production reporting deadline for wheat.

USMCA (NAFTA 2.0) - Here's some of the details on the recently reached accord with our Canadian and Mexican trading partners...mostly a reboot of the original, with some minor adjustments.
